What is a Domain Name?

A Domain Name (also called a "web address", "web name", or just a ".com") is simply an address for a website.  Vimsoft.com is an example of a domain name.  When you enter a domain name into a web browser, internet servers locate its corresponding website to display on your computer.  Domain names may also be used for personalized email addresses such as support@Vimsoft.com.  Every Vimsoft website plan includes at least one domain name.  Your domain names can be anything you like as long as they meet our Terms of Service requirements and are not already registered.  If the domain names you want are already registered, we will work with you to find alternatives.  If you would like to purchase a domain name without ordering our website plans, visit our partner website www.VimDomains.com for the best values on the Web!
